Dr Borek Puza


Dr Borek Puza teaches Statistics in the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics. He has a BSc in Mathematics and a Graduate Diploma, Masters and PhD in Statistics.

Borek has taught a variety of actuarial and statistics courses at ANU including Introductory Mathematical Statistics, Credibility Theory, Applied Time Series Analysis, and Design of Experiments and Surveys. He is convenor of the Bachelor of Statistics degree and has supervised more than 30 Honours and PhD students. Borek is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Borek has researched and published in the areas of Bayesian methods, health and work-life expectancies, combinatorics, probability paradoxes, and confidence estimation. He has published a book titled Bayesian Methods for Statistical Analysis and written a series of papers on confidence estimation using the method of tail functions.
